James Desjardins, a musician from Fort McMurray, Alberta, and of Dene descent from the Buffalo River Dene Nation, began his musical journey at the age of 10 with a guitar. His soulful voice quickly became a hallmark of his music. By 17, he wrote his first song, "Drunken Love," showcasing his early talent for songwriting. This creative spark led him to pursue his musical dreams further, culminating in the release of his debut album, Black Patch Road, in 2019. The album was both a personal achievement and a testament to his skill in crafting heartfelt stories through music.
James is not just a studio artist; he has actively toured across Canada, reaching remote fly-in communities in Northern Ontario and connecting with diverse audiences through his soulful performances. His journey has also included sharing stages with renowned bands such as Streetheart, Trooper, and Johnny Reid, experiences that have enriched his musical style and solidified his place in the Canadian music scene.
Looking ahead, James is preparing for a new chapter in his career. in 2024, he will collaborate with legendary Canadian producer Bart McKay, promising to elevate his music to new heights.

Darla Daniels is a dynamic Métis fiddler, singer-songwriter, actress, and championship Red River Jigger known for her magnetic stage presence and passionate performances. Blending traditional Métis fiddle with roots, country, and Americana, her music is both a tribute to her heritage and a bold step into new creative territory.
In 2024, Darla joined the Stratford Festival’s world premiere of The Diviners, showcasing her talent on a national theatre stage. She also performs with the Edmonton-based country band Justin Sutton & North of 49, and has graced major stages including the Edmonton Folk Music Festival, the Newport Celtic Rock Festival, and Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Her high-energy performances have opened for acts like Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Gary Allan, and The Road Hammers.
Her latest single, “Many Miles” (2024), is a deeply personal tribute to her late father and the lead single from her upcoming EP '1992', weaving together themes of loss, resilience, and legacy. The song has received national radio play, including features on SiriusXM and CFWE.
Darla has been recognized with several awards, including the 2023 MSGC Arts & Culture Award and the Young Woman of Vision Award from Grant MacEwan University. She has also been featured on APTN, CBC Radio, and other major platforms celebrating Indigenous and Canadian artistry.
